Meet the artist!
I am Bernadett Gurdon - or as the online world knows me, Mocarro. I am a Hungarian freelance artist, located in the capital city of Hungary, Budapest.

I was always a science nerd and a wanna-be zoologist, so when my creative side kicked in, it wasn't even a question of what my main subjects will be: animals. Nature and biology were always an important part of my life, so much, I preferred animal-themed Disney movies over the classic princess ones. This girl over here never played with dolls, I collected stuffed lions instead and demanded long talks about lion anatomy from my other as bedtime stories.

This passion shows in my art as well: I enjoy drawing animals mixed with different scientific themes, such as astronomy and creating unique fantasy scenes. I also enjoy working with anatomy, from skeletons to muscles and I enjoy pouring hours into building up anatomically correct creatures for fantasy projects.

Another passion of mine is lighting: I love to experiment around with different moods by creating different lighting scenarios and clashing different colours against each other and drama is the first word in my artistic vocabulary. Somehow my personal project cannot miss dramatic lighting and showing some bones, usually skulls.
Being a 100% self-taught artist I cannot be grateful enough for the different art resource videos and speedpaints - these resources showed me a person doesn't need to pay heavy money for art education and now one of my main goals is to give back to the art community by sharing what I have learned and learn: I started to write my own art blog where I go through my working method and why I am doing the things I am doing, hopefully showing to the future generation of artists that anyone can learn to do art.
